Blogagaard Receives License to ROCK
Actually today, at work, I received an entire acoustic guitar from my friend Mike. How sweet is that? How often do you get a guitar in the mail? Not often, my friends, not often. Tonight said Mikey came over, tuned the starters guitar, and we drank as he taught me the proper chords to a Greg Brown song. Astounding. I had my father's guitar before, for about a year, and I learned about five chords. That's a start. Now I must work on my transitions, build some callouses, and redirect all possible fire towards ROCKING. Because, in my humble opinion, if you don't rock out once in a while you're already dead. I'm serious, peeps. Dick Cheney has all this power, but when's the last time he fucking rocked out? That's what I'd like to know.
Rock on!

Congrats on the fine gift. Good thing he didn't just give you half a guitar. That would suck.
I prefer twirling to rocking out, is that OK?
First a poetry blog and now a guitar. Is Blogagaard destined to become a singer/songwriter, musing on the beauty of farms, stray dogs and Jack Daniels?
Twirling is okay, but be careful, I knew someone who twirled so much got dizzy, fell off a cliff, and were eaten by flying piranahs on the way down.
Inspektor, I can only hope such an awesome destiny lies in wait for me...
When is your first recital? I want an invite! I will drink cheap beer and sing along off key while cheering you wildly!
Dick Cheney is actually an accomplished concert guitarist with two hundred and seventy five recording credits. Bet you didn't know that. It's a fact.
(not really)
p.s. I can come over and give you pointers on la guitarra, for a small fee. Like, a beer or something.
Thanks, Lucas! The first recital will be in 2012. When I finally am decent.
Brilliant lie I almost believed, App. I like all the white space in your comment, too. I am sure you will rock out hardcore with your band this weekend, and you will feel good afterwards. I will contact you when my fingers stop bleeding.
Forget Cheney. I'd say you and that guitar are on the verge of creating World Peace.
All it's going to take is the right song at the right time, people. Let's do this thing.

Who do you think you are, Wyld Stallyns?
Now you need to look ahead and work on your 'image'. Invest in a few key wardrobe pieces that will tell people exactly what you're about, get a haircut that says 'subversive', 'retro', or 'i don't give a damn'. Think about your shoes. You'll have a record deal in no time.
I have a guitar and know 4 chords and can sing the indigo girls when my head's shaved, which it is. Maybe we should do a serious duet?
it's a fact!! rock out on that acoustic guitar, don't let it become another sad abandoned instrument languishing in the basement or closet. But know this fact: If you sit in the cubicle across from me and start playing your guitar, I will bean you with my stapler.
ooooo! Sign me up for the Indigo Girls session, that would totally rock. I have this little "memorized all the songs" problem. Need to work that out.
