Meat Loaf: Rock-N-Roll Dream Come Through

We here at Blogagaard are proud to announce the begining of Meat Loaf Week! This rock-n-roll frontman proudly wears his heart on sleeve, inspiring millions of love struck and emotionally unstable individuals daily. His lyrics, actually written by a guy named Jim Steinman (sp?), transcend reality itself with their haunting, melodramatic quality. I know he's not "hip", or really "cool", but something much, much better than all that.

"You can't run away forever
But there's nothing wrong with getting a good headstart."

Who hasn't thought of running away from everything? Just chucking it all, leaving all the crap of daily life behind them? Here we see Meat Loaf as revolutionary poet, accepting the eventual defeat that awaits us all while also denying it, telling us to get a good headstart anyway, to not go gently into that good night.

I have such good (although fuzzy) college memories of being at a party and standing on one side of the room with all the girls as we sang the girls part with the guys on the other side of the room singing the guys part to Paradise by the Dashboard Lights. I guess beer makes anything seem fun.

"Bob had bitch tits..."

The best thing Meatloaf has ever done, past or present.

Actually, Lucas, that happened to me at a wedding Chicago last year. It was drunken riot! The best dance of the night if you don't count me collapsing during the apex of Dancing With Myself by Billy Idol.

What's that from, Mike?

Erika, you might be the cheeseball here. You listen in Enya, in all seriousness.

I am not familiar with this Meat Loaf. Other than his work in Fight Club. Quite frankly I find Meat Loaf quite disgusting, even with ketchup.

That's from Fight Club, as Edward Norton buries his face into Meatloaf's man breasts and sobs like a little baby.
