The Suicide Collectors Go Audio

I have been informed that the audio book rights for The Suicide Collectors have been purchased by Books on Tape. This means it'll be an audio book as well!

I wonder who'll do the reading. I hope they get Gilbert Godfrey of Aflac fame. I don't know about you, but I love an obnoxious, screechy voice when I'm trying to listen to a story.

Congrats. I hope it makes the long endless wait till release date a little less painful. Just wondering, have the Books on Tape people upgraded to Books on CD, or even .MP3? Either way, it will really reduce the pressure on you to perform at book readings.

Thanks, Pete! In answer to your question, yes, I think they've upgraded their formats. Here's a company profile I found on-line:

Drive-time radio driving you crazy? Books on Tape rents and sells tape-recorded readings of books to customers throughout the US and Canada. The company offers about 5,000 titles through its Web site and catalog. The books, available on cassette tapes, CDs, and digitally, include bestsellers, classics, mysteries, and educational and children's books. All of the company's offerings are recorded unabridged and rented for 30-day periods. Books on Tape also sells to libraries and adds about 25 new releases each month. Founded in 1975 by former president Duvall Hecht and his family, Books on Tape is a unit of publisher Random House.

Now that's good to hear. But, I'll still pick up an old boom box, you know Breakin' II, Electric Boogaloo-style, just in case. It'd give the kids in the cubefarm something to talk about...

Again, congrats. I look forward to the release.

If it isn't read by Sally Jesse Raphael, I'm not buyin' it.
