I've been thinning out my collection of books these last few weeks. I believe I've gotten rid of, or will get rid of, about two hundred volumes. I used to think the more books you owned the better, and dreamed of this huge vast library of books, but now I'm not so sure. I don't NEED to own thousands of books, that's what libraries are for. I mean, I love books, and will always have a few bookshelves on hand for reference and review, but I no longer feel the intense collector's urge to own as many as possible. Besides, a collection of anything, no matter how cool it is, weighs you down, and with summer coming on I'd rather feel light, and free.
Like a bird.
Or Jack Kerouac.
Or Jack Kerouac after he's been eaten by a giant bird.

Perhaps when the giant bird poops out Jack Kerouac it will land "On the Road."
Ha ha.
uff da.
Does this mean you are keeping Kerouac?
I don't own "On the Road". I have "The Dharma Bums" however, I'll keep that. What I really need to do is weed out the gigantic books.
At least all the ones that haven't been colored in yet, right? (Ha ha ha...is this thing on?...Hellooooo.....)
Okay, I just took two overflowing paper bags worth of books, dvds, and video tapes to Half Price Books and got $24 for all that. I then immediately went across the street to Barnes & Nobles and purchased two Pearls Before Swine collections. I figure a 30:1 ratio of books sold to books purchased is fine.
I'm sick of this six comment curse on my blog, so here is comment 7, bitches!:
When will it be spring???
