Some General Thoughts on Zombies

You know, I sure spend a lot of mental time and energy thinking about zombies. Why is this? Is it only because zombies kick so much ass? Or because I finally finished reading "WORLD WAR Z: An Oral History of the Zombie Wars" by Max Brooks? Or is it really because I'm a zombie at heart?

Maybe I was born to shamble. Maybe shambling would be good for me, get some exercise chasing after people with my arms thrust out. And why are other people, who aren't me, also fascinated by zombies? Are we, as a people, really that lonely? Will we welcome a hug from anything, even if it wants to bite our face off? Do we miss the dead that much? Or are zombies really a metaphor for the United States of America, a nation relentlessly shambling after all the little, more nimble nations? Do not think the sudden rise of popularity of zombies, malls, cubicles, and temp workers are simply a coincidence. No. Never think that. And maybe, just maybe, have some iron bars put over all your windows, pets, and children.

Let's keep in mind the horrible lessons of World War Z.

Never forget.

And I always thought zombies were creatures (more like machines) going thru the motions, without any common intent linking the acts together.

Apparently I have been skipping too many horror movies.

The common intent in zombie psychology is eating, to devour. They are mouths with bodies attached. They hunger, they yearn.

Zombies keep it real.
