5,000 Miles Later...
Well, the actual total was 4,996 miles, but that’s still some good travelin’. As AC/DC so wisely tell us, “It’s a long way to the top if you want to rock-n-roll”.
We journeyed from St. Paul to Boulder (13.5 hours, 920 miles on the first day) then continued west into northern Utah, got creeped out by Mormon central, and by the third night we were camping near beautiful Lake Tahoe. Then Yosemite National Park, then Sequoia NP (bears, deer, and squirrel incidents [in order of freakiness to funniness] and then we swung out to southern CA, at one point coming about 100 miles near L.A., blowing through Vegas and the Hoover Dam, camped in southern Utah near stunning, Grand Canyon-esque Zion NP, then swimming in Glenwood Springs, CO, at the hot springs pools, and then camping nearby on the roadside of a winding mountain road (thankfully Jason did not show up to hack us to death) and then, joy, a hotel room in Lincoln, Nebraska, and then home again home again this afternoon.
This is all very skeletal, I know, but if you want details, well, just pull up a chair and we’ll jaw apiece.

We?
my cousin Steve traveled with me. Good company, knows how to build a fire. He was an Eagle scout.
A pipe? Mighty literary of you, Bloggy. But it's kind of hot for the tweed coat with elbow patches, dontcha think?
it wasn't hot in the mountains, my friend. but yes, the pipe will now be put in a drawer for the occasional occasion.
I am impressed, that is quite a lot in a brief amount of time! I am tired of being in the car just reading about it!
Also, Tellon already has more friends than you on myspace.

Your trip sounds awesome. I see a major "cousin" theme for travellers. Hmmmm...
