I have a new article up on mnartists.org about my two ventures into indie filmmaking-think of it as the origin story for The Hardworking Man from Nebraska & a tale of set design despair for Taste.
Speaking of Taste, voting closes for it on October 31st (Halloween!) so please watch and vote for it now!
Also, I noticed an interesting Atlantic Monthly article about the rise of genre fiction in the literary fiction world. True or not, I love the example of Junot Diaz and the speculation that he must have hidden all that love of genre fiction under the bed of the characters in Drown because he wanted the critics to take his stories seriously. It sure speaks to the idea of writer as critical & societal weather vane.
